Northern California Cont'd

Warning- this post may be picture overload
Day 2: Aug 28
Our Anniversary!

We decided to spend the day in San Francisco. Julio picked us up and we headed to Berkley to pick up his girlfriend Elisabeth. We had never met her! We ended up having a delicious breakfast at a tiny place in Berkley before heading into San Fran. It was pretty windy but still a gorgeous day.
We got some great pics of the Golden Gate Bridge.

After a day of sight seeing we headed to dinner. We all brought a change of clothes since we planned to spend a night out on the town. We dined at Boulevard which is right near the water with a view of the Bay Bridge. After a wonderful dinner with even better company (thank you Julio and Elisabeth for joining us!) We took a taxi to the Clift Hotel and enjoyed some cocktails and conversation.

Day 3: Aug 29

Julio made us breakfast at his place which was a nice break from eating out every meal. It was also nice to have a relaxed morning. We kind of took our time getting ready and just hung out before getting on the road back to San Francisco. We decided to see Wicked which was playing at the Orpheus Theatre. We got really decent seats for purchasing them the day of the show!
The 4 of us spent some time at Treasure Island which is across from San Francisco with a fantastic view. We took a BUNCH of pictures there. It was super windy and really cold!

Then we spent about an hour walking around Pier 39 before we split up. Julio and Elisabeth went to a movie and Israel and I ate some clam chowder in a bread bowl. (you can't go to SanFrancisco and not have this!) It was soooo good. Then we changed (in the car again- we got pretty good at this) and hopped in a cab to head to the show... we had trouble calling for a cab because we couldn't remember the area code! LOL Because of this we ended up getting in a cab 10 minutes later than we planned and it was a mad dash for the theater. Let me tell you this- cab drivers are CRAZY. We almost got in a wreck. A truck ran a red light when our driver had the right of way... but still. He drove very fast. We made it to the theater with minutes to spare before the show started. This meant we didn't get pictures out front with the remaining daylight. Shucks. But we got to our seats in time which is what matters. If we had been any later they would have made us wait until the second act which is 20 minutes into the show. That would have pretty much ruined it b/c the first 20 minutes explains ALOT. I'm glad we made it. Here are some pics we took at intermission.
By the time we met up with Julio and Elisabeth again we realized we were all starving. I meant to get a pic of the 4 of us outside this cute little Italian restaurant we found but completely spaced it when we left.  :(

*Stay tuned for Day 4 and 5. I'll finish the details tomorrow.

I am so jealous of your trip! I wanted to go to San Fran this year but I don't think it will happen. I'm glad you had lots of fun and Happy Anniversary!
